What is the Hydra Bridge?

Hydra Bridge is a cross-chain bridge that allows exchange of crypto assets between Ethereum and Hydra blockchains. The main purpose is to enable transfer of assets from Ethereum to Hydra. Users holding assets on Ethereum can exchange them to corresponding assets on Hydra (1:1). Hydra Bridge also allows redemption of the exchanged assets back to the user's Ethereum account at any time.

How to use the Bridge

Ethereum to Hydra Chain

We will use ETH as an example for this walkthrough guide. Let's assume that you already have some ETH (Ethereum) in your MetaMask Wallet. If not then you can send some from an Exchange or another wallet to your MetaMask address.

Please leave enough ETH to account for bridging approvals transactions and bridge fees. Besides transactions fees, the Bridge fee from Ethereum to Hydra Chain is 0.02 ETH.

In the below walkthrough, we will start with how to import your Hydra address from your Hydra Mobile wallet to the Hydra Browser Extension, and then move on to the bridging process.

  1. On the Hydra Mobile App, swipe your address to the right to see the private key. (copy it and keep it safe, do not share this with anyone). If using the Hydra Desktop client, please view this guide to .

  2. On your Laptop, on google chrome, install the and import the address using the private key you obtained in step 1.

  3. Login to your Hydra Browser Extension. Click on the settings gear icon on the top left and click on "Settings". Change the Session Logout Interval to 30 minutes or 2 hours. This is just to ensure that you do not get logged out while bridging.

  4. Add the token contract for the asset you wish to bridge. In our example, for ETH, the token contract is ab9e970de9ba9ec2c64a7f7f911da44b750ecf6a. You can search for the token contract by typing in the name of the token in the Hydra Explorer search box; the "Address Hash" is the token contract.

  5. Now login to your MetaMask (you can import your MetaMask address using the Eth private key that you got on your Mobile MetaMask, or create and Ethereum address on MetaMask).

  6. Go to https://bridge.hydrachain.org/eth Your addresses for Hydra and Ethereum would have probably connected automatically. If not, then please click on the "Connect to MetaMask" and "Connect to Hydra Wallet" buttons.

  7. Click on the blue "Use my Hydra address" for your Hydra address to populate. Select the asset from the dropdown, populate the amount you want to bridge and click on "Next".

  8. You should see the below screen. Click on "Confirm".

  9. You will now receive a pop-up from your MetaMask asking for approval to brige your assets. Please click on Confirm.

  10. You should now see a screen like below, wherein the bridging process has begun. It will take approximately 15 minutes for your assets to bridge across and land in your Hydra Wallet.

Please note: Bridged assets can only be used in the Hydra ecosystem and currently no centralized exchange supports deposit of the bridged assets.

Hydra Chain to Ethereum

We will use ETH as an example for this walkthrough guide. Let's assume that you already have some ETH (Hydra) in your Hydra address. If not then use HydraDEX or Hydra Mobile App to acquire some.

Please leave around 65 - 70 Hydra to account for swapping fees, bridging approvals transactions and bridge fees. Besides transactions fees, the Bridge fee from Hydra to Ethereum is 48 Hydra.

In the below walkthrough, we will start with how to import your Hydra address from your Hydra Mobile wallet to the Hydra Browser Extension, and then move on to the bridging process.

  1. Login to your Hydra Browser Extension. Click on the settings gear icon on the top left and click on "Settings". Change the Session Logout Interval to 30 minutes or 2 hours. This is just to ensure that you do not get logged out while bridging.

  3. Now login to your MetaMask (you can import your MetaMask address using the Eth private key that you got on your Mobile MetaMask, or create and Ethereum address on MetaMask).

  4. Go to https://bridge.hydrachain.org/eth Your addresses for Hydra and Ethereum would have probably connected automatically. If not, then please click on the "Connect to MetaMask" and "Connect to Hydra Wallet" buttons. Also click on the blue "Use my MetaMask address" for your Ethereum address to populate

  5. Select the asset , populate the amount you want to bridge and click on "Next".

  6. You should see the below screen. Click on "Confirm".

  7. You will receive two pop-up's asking to confirm 2 transactions like below, one with 250,000 Gas to approve use of the token and the other 350,000 Gas to bridge the token.

P.S. If you do not get both pop-ups, please make sure your browser allows popups for bridge.hydrachain.org and restart the process.

  8. You should now see a screen like below, wherein the bridging process has begun. It will take approximately 8 to 15 minutes for your assets to bridge across and land in your MetaMask wallet

And that's it!

That's it! You can now use your bridged assets to participate in various DeFi activities like Liquidity Provision. also has some attractive provided to the Liquidity Providers as a reward for supplying liquidity.

On the Hydra Mobile App, swipe the address to the right to see the private key. (copy it and keep it safe, do not share this with anyone). If using the Hydra Desktop client, please view this guide to .

On your Laptop, on google chrome, install the and import the address using the private key you obtained in step 1. This gives you access to the bridge and HydraDEX. Make sure that your browser allows popups for bridge.hydrachain.org.
